Are there farms or parishes, or other places in Nordreland or Sondreland that would provide the "Greni" and "Brenden" in names such as Albert Nilsen Greni and Elise Syvertsdtr Brenden? These people (husband and wife) lived in Nordreland in the 1880s.

What methods have you already tried for finding these locations in either Nordre Land or Søndre Land districts of Oppland, Norway?

There is a set of LDS microfiche (#6030038) about Norway - a Postal/Shipping Guide as of 1901. A long long list of place names in alphabetical order which may be helpful in your search if no one here recognizes it.

You could choose an online census database - most likely 1801, 1865 or 1900 and copy out a list of the farm names in each of those Oppland districts. You could then compile them into a master index for yourself.
The spellings will be seen to change through the years - so deciding which census year will be your own choice.

The 1865 Norwegian census shows a farm then listed as "Brænden" in Fluberg parish of Land (when Land is divided I believe Fluberg ends up in Søndre Land) - notice the young girl named 'Elisa Syversd.' -

Found a possibility in Akershus, rather than Oppland, for Albert -

Thanks, Hopkins. Albert Nilsen (the name we have) did live in Akershus for a time, and also in Buskerud; had children born in both as well as in Nordreland. His work as a stonemason evidently necessitated moving his family from time to time.
