Hi,
we need help to translate this record from Oslo Domkirke, the languide has changed a lot since 1823. I use ?? if I am uncertain.
Abbout Hjalmars parents:
Raad:hus.Skriver Peter Gjertz???og Husfrue Magdalene Elisabeth Gjertz født Hoff
Bailiff Peter Gjertz??and housewife Magdalene Elisabeth Gjertz born Hoff

Raadhus skriver or fogd / bailiff with limited police authority responsible for public registers and records, Raadhus = City hall, skriver = chribe/writer.

We need 1780 records online from Toten to find out more about both Magdalene and Peter Gjertz´s parents and her last name Hoff.
In 1801 census for Toten she was 22 years old, in 1865 census for Kongsberg she was 85 years, born on Toten, and when she died of pneumonia in Kongsberg June 23. 1870, nr 57, she was 89,5 years old.

Widow Magdalene Elisabeth Gjertz, born Hoff

Magdalene Elisabeth Hoff was the youngest of 8 children, christened Dec 16 1779 at Toten. Her parents were Andreas Hoff, son of Oluf Hannibal Hoff and Anna Sophia Boyssen, and Maren Nielsen. (you will find this searching LSD for Magdalene Hoff birth 1779)

Hjalmar was "Hjemmedøpt 1te October 1823, frembaaren i Kirken 25de Marts 1824" (Babtized at home Oct 1 1823, presented in church March 25 1824)
Parents were "By- og Raadhusskriver Peter Gjertz her i Staden, og hustrue, Magdalene Elisabeth, født Hoff." (Bailiff Peter Gjertz here in town, and wife, Magdalene Elisabeth Gjertz, born Hoff.)
Godparents were "Moderen, Frøken Bettey Nielsen, Pige Botty Juell, Handelsbetjent Hans Lemmich Juell, Stud: Med: David Weidemann og Stud: Juris: Frederik Weidemann."
In the column for "anmerkninger" is found "Barnet hjemmedøpt af Handelsbetjent Hans Lemmich Juell, og har efter?? fra professor Sørensen under 10nde Decber 1823 ?? formedelst sygdom hindret? ?? kirken" (this was difficult!)

The 1801 census for Toten shows Magdalene living with Kristian Sommerfelt and his wife Anna Sophia Hagerup (she was related to one of the two) at the Sukkestad farm.

Kristian Sommerfelt had a Friderik Giertz as his secretary.

A good substitute for scanned records could be http://www.slektshistorielaget.no/
Magdalenes father Hr. Andreas Hoff was a godfather in 1780 when Margrethe Elisabeth, daughter of Carl Friederich Bøysen, was baptized.
Andreas mother was Anna Sophia Bøysen - sister of Carl Friedrich?
When Andreas died he was a perpetual curate.

The father of Andreas Hoff (born in 1737), Oluf Hannibal Hof, came from Denmark. Search LSD to get info.
