Does Norway have birth and death certificates like those used in the U.S.? If so, could someone point me to how I would find these in the Oslo and Baerum areas? I would like to try to find out if my half-sister and her husband have died, as I have not received answers to my last letters to them.
Thank you.

Official records covering deaths and births are not open sources, they are normally not accessible before 80 years after the last entry for the general public without a very good reason or close relationship like next of kind.
