I am not sure if there are any connection here, but I doubt it.
Your folks both came from Gloppen in Sogn and Fjordane County.

Anne Marie Pedersdatter born to Peder Larsen and Eli Anthonsdatter on Dahle in 1801

Anton Aamundsen born to Aamund Antonsen and Mari Jensdatter on Hoele in 1801.

If you are intersted to find more information I will recommend you to open a new topic.

Hi Deb,

The book is out of print, I believe. You could try to get a copy via Inter Library Loan at your public library or you can buy a photocopy of the particular pages (sometimes also via ILL or from a local genealogical society or such.)

Happy Holidays!

A curiosity or could it be family members?

Three young emigrants from Oldre/Vang traveling with a large group from Vang in 1870, nr 135 Knud Guttormsen Oldre age 15, nr 217 his sister Gjertrud age 17 and nr 279 brother Knud age 21 on ship Theresa seems to emigrate without the parents which was
Guttorm Knudsen Oldre age 40 in 1865 and Dorte Nilsdatter age 33 in 1865.
Guttorm was born to Knud Paulsen Oldre/Nordland.
Knud´s father Paul Nordland was godfather to Anfind Guttormsen Oldre, see my posting of 20.12.2008 on 13.13 01 o´clock.

Happy holidays.

I will have to check this out....I did put all the posts and information I got from this message board into a binder for each of my family members. I am including a card that lets them know this is a "work in progress"

Have a very happy holiday! How do you say Christmas in Norwegian?

Hi Deb,

Ole Amundson's (1876/1877-?)obit is findable at www.genealogybank.com. Ole died in 1962 and his obit is listed in the Seattle Daily times.

Hi All, i have read that one of my American relations. One of Arne Arnesen's grandchildren married into the Amundsen family. so we are connected ???? But I'm still to figure all this out ;)
