I am trying to help someone find out information on a Ingeborg Berliot Kristiansdtr. born 3-14-1886 in Enebakk, Akerhus, Norway. I found her birth and baptism in the scanned parish register 1867-1888 Enebakk. Ingeborg's parents were Kristian Albert Johannessen, born 1860 and Laura Larsdtr. born 1860. I have found the information on her in Norway.
The person looking for information on Ingeborg knows the following: Ingeborg immigrated in 1912 and wrote a letter to her brother in Norway that stated she was married to a Anderson and had two sons, ages fourteen and fifteen. The letter was dated 1930. She was living in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. The person would like to know what Mr. Anderson's name was and the sons names. She is planning on visiting the area in Canada and would like to reconnect with relatives of these people.
I have searched various ways and know that Cornwall is in Stormont County. I have Ancestry for the states, but not Canada. I have tried everything I can think of to help her, but with no luck.
I tried finding if she was married in Norway, but could not find a marriage in Enebakk records, or a list of her leaving.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any help. I know this one is a long shot! Kathy

Birth records for this time period are not available to the public.

Marriage records are available. You can get more info by sending a message to the Ontario Archives using the following email address:

reference@archives.gov.on.ca

Following are references to the microfilm containing marriage records for specific years. Since it is unknown when the couple married, I included the reference info for the years 1913, 1914, and 1915.

1913 A - Z MS 934, Reel 11

1914 A - Z MS 934, Reel 12

1915 A - Z MS 934, Reel 13

Thank you to everyone for your help so far. I searched around alot on the internet and discovered no census online after 1911. Close, but not close enough!
I will pass on the information given. Thank you again. Kathy

The 1911 Canadian Census is the latest census available to the general public. It will be several years before the next census is available to the general public.

Suggestions:

- get copy of marriage record

- contact the Ontario Genealogical Society to find out if they have info on others that may be researching the same family.

- attempt to contact someone in the Cornwall area. Perhaps a co-ordinator with the GenWeb Project for that area.

- there are 26 Anderson families residing in Cornwall, Ontario (area). Contacting as many as possible may get positive results.

- hire a researcher

Hi,
I posted on Rootsweb for Stormont, Ontario for help with finding info. on Ingeborg. I also found the 26 Anderson's living in the area. Also will relay the other information to party looking for this family. Then I guess it will be up to them how far they want to research! Thanks again.
