Tove,

Ancestry.com has him arriving in Quebec, 26 April 1902 from Liverpool, on the ship Parisian. The ship left Liverpool 17 April 1902. Hans' destination was his son, T. Hanson, at Elmore, Minnesota.

Tove,

There seems to be more info available for Hans P Hanson. There is a H P Hanson born about 1848, who immigrated 1866, listed in the 1900 Census, married to Else, with 7 children. Living at Elmore, MN.

I have earlier foud that his son emigratied and married in Elmore, Minnesota.

If you have some more information about Hans Peter in USA it would be very nice. Where did he live and where did he die - burial.

Tove,

The Hans P. Hansen that emigrated in 1902 was still a citizen of Norway, per the ships manifest.

There is a Hans P. Hanson, born Aug. 1847, and can be found in Elmore, MN, but this person emigrated in 1866, and became a citizen of the US. There are several census available for this person and his family, but evidently this is not the right one, as none of his children have a first name starting with the letter T.

I have not been able to locate a T. Hanson, son of Hans. Can you offer any more information? His full name, date of birth, and when he emigrated, would help.

Les.

To Tove:
I have a registered HANS PETER HANSEN, born c. 1825, that at age 26, arrived aboard the bark "COLON" in the colony Dona Francisca, in Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil!!! His profession was stated as "baker". He was one of the 74 Norwegians who made the trip aboard the ship "SOPHIE" to Rio de Janeiro, leaving Trondheim c. 25 October 1850 and arriving in Rio c.20 January 1851. Their final destination was California, USA, but the ship was not seaworthy to proceed and they were then recruited by a German agent to become colonists. Therefore, he arrived, not in San Francisco, California but in Sao Francisco do Sul, Brazil aboard "Colon" . Hans Peter Hansen was one of the 19 who stuck at the colony for a while. He may have later left c. 1854 back to Norway or tried to make to California. You may read more by clicking on the ship SOPHIE trip in 1850 to Rio de Janeiro.
I am a descendant of FABER MARCUS JOHNSON GØRRISSEN ,one of the 19 who went down to the colony and one of the 9 who remained in Brazil.
If you find this message interesting and if you have more information that may relate to your relative, or mine, please contact me.

Hello there!

About Hans Peter Hansen, I'm also looking for more informations. I'm from Brazil, actually from Joinville city, where was http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Col%C3%B4nia_dona_francisca

You can find Hans Peter Hansen also in this imigration list: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lista_dos_primeiros_Imigrantes_da_Col%C3%B4nia_Dona_Francisca

I'm wondering about his legacy in Brazil to find out if I am one of his descendents. Can anyone help me?

Regards.
