I visited Sandefjord last week. Thanks to the info that Brining and Eichbache provided me, I now know that my great-great grandparents were August Martin Andersen and Anne Helvig. I visited the Sande kirche and in the graveyard, after searching for about an hour and a half I located their grave. I left a daisy on their stone, in the honor of my great-grandmother Amanda who was their daughter who left Sandefjord for America in 1900 and they never saw her again. I then walked for many kilometers, perhaps 4 or more, to get to the area 'Ormestad'. It appears to be a suburb, with newer homes and flats. Can someone give me a specific as to what farm in Ormestad is where August Martin Andersen and Anne Helvig had their children? And, perhaps tell me where it is located or was located? I am in Berlin today but returning to Oslo tomorrow afternoon and have no plans so I could hop on a train to Sandefjord, it takes about an hour. Sunday I am flying back to the USA so if I could get some info it would be fantastic.

As you have noticed changes to an area close to a city results in difficulties to establish the exact whereabouts of old farms.
The best chance is to talk to the people now living in the area and ask where the farm was situated.
Here is a reasoable good map showing Ormestad. Write Ormestad where it says "Sĝk i kart", next picture click on Ormestad after Sandefjord (at the bottom to the left) Zoom in and see that the flag points at a place outside the newly buildt homes. Ask the people in Vardeveien 88 or 90 where the farm was situated.

Ormestad is located to Sandar/Sande local parish at Sandefjord.
1900 there were 12 farms named or containing Ormestad

Thanks, eibache and Kaarto. When I use the online map and change the view to be an actual aerial photo, I can see that I walked exactly in this area. I remember the roads very well, the school, and the large field that can be seen if you navigate to the left. Oh, my poor feet! And it is on a bit of a grade too, so it was an extra difficult walk. Well, as I dont speak Norwegian and am a bit shy about knocking on a strangers door, I will have to leave this to rest. But thanks for your assistance, very much indeed.
