Besides the death of the first Ole Gustavsen in 1762, it appears that the only living children of Gustav are - presumably Lars, and Peder and Ole b. 1763 -

the other children's deaths - for your records
Marte G - ch 11 May 1760 Grue - - death 1762 Jan 23 Marther Gustavsd Berger 2

Kari G - ch 8 May 1768 Grue - - death 1770 July 7 Kari Gustavsd Twengsberget 2 yr 3 mo

Johannes G - ch 16 Feb 1766 Grue -- death 1774 Mar 13 Johannes Gustavsen Hannestad 8 yr 2 mo

death of Lars - Grue page 241 - 1812 Sept 20 Lars Gustavsen Hanestadseter - it has 68, but that is too old - (58 would work - born ca 1754) since the parents were married in Vinger in 1754, possibly he was born there - or ? Sweden as one person has posted to IGI.

Kildeinformasjon: Hedmark fylke, Grue, Ministerialbok nr. 5 (1805-1814), Kronologisk liste 1812, side 240-241.

Just a small comment on baptism of (two) Ole Gustavusen - parents Gustavus Larsen and Mari Berger - the s at the end of (the farm) Berger relates to that Ole is their son - in the record it says "Døpt Gustavus Larsen og Mari Bergers Ole - ".
Then naming practice - yes the first son normally is given the name of the grandfather - in this case Lars.

Regarding the 1801 census stating that Lars was 40 and Marthe 47 years old, I agree that this could be wrong - most likely Lars was 47 and Marthe 40, ie Lars born 1754, confirmed in 1773, 19 years old - is realistic. A Marthe Olsdatter is cristened April 21 1761, Parents Ole Halvorsen and Mari Hermansdatter, Funderudhaugen.

I hate to ask again but I need help with deciphering the baptism record of Gunild Larsdatter at: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?show=101&uid=32072&urnread_imagesize=medium&hode=nei&ls=1
20 Jan 1782 - on the right side of page 192 in Grue. What I am trying to do is see who the baptism witnesses are on each of the four children of Lars Gustavsen and Marthe Olsdatter and I can't read this writing.
Thanking you in advance!
J. Jensen
