My information is that on Oct.26th, 1850, a Norwegian named
MARCUS JOHNSEN FABER GØRRISSEN left Trondheim aboard the ship "SOPHIE" and arrived in RIO DE JANEIRO then settled in SAO FRANCISCO DO SUL, in Brazil.
There he married Caroline Schneider and had 9 children.
Of these I heard that the three oldest returned to Norway. They were:
ANNA GÖRRESEN, born 12/February/1857; died 8/January/1920;
OSCAR GÖRRESEN, born 3/February/1859; and
ADOLPH GÖRRESEN, born 17/July/1861; died 5/March/1889.
Are there any Norwegian death records available?

I would very much appreciate to have a contact with any descendants of the above as I am a Great Grandson of Marcus
GØRRISSEN=GÖRRESEN born in Brazil.
Thank you,
Paulo Görresen

Here is a listing from Trondhjem. These could be a good possibility of relatives.

So that people don't search in vain... the Gørrissen family lived in the Stjørdal region in Nord-Trøndelag.

Link

Marcus' father Hans Hermand Egedius Gørrisen was born on 21 Mar 1790 in Flensburg, Sleswig-Holstein, Germany. He died on 27 Mar 1861 in Stjørdal, Nord Trøndelag. Link
