He was captain or 1st mate on a ship where he died and was burried at sea. Is it possible to find out the name of the ship and possible what sea he may have been burried in? He died at sea around the year of 1882.

Carefully read the following article on this website about Norwegian mariner's records-
http://www.norwayheritage.com/articles/templates/genealogy.asp?articleid=4&zoneid=2

One vital thing you'll have to know about this man that at least two people keep bringing up is WHERE in Norway he resided so that you can determine which district to search for pertinent mariner's records.
The 1865 Norwegian census shows him listed with his patronymic name, Jakobsen, and his family in the parish of Bjugn in Sør-Trøndelag, Norway. That census shows his mother to have been a widow by 1865 and lists Jakob's birthplace as Ørland parish in Sør-Trøndelag, Norway.

I have some documents of Jacob Henrik Jacobsen and need to know if some one could
look at these documents and tell me anything about them. If this is possible, please tell
me where to e-mail them or submit them.
