This is the info i have on my great great granfathers family that he left behind in Norway i presume when he came to NZ on the Hovding in 1872 he had 6 brothers & sisters their names where

He changed his last name to Laurvig on coming to NZ I believe it was the name of his farm they lived on

Edvard Andersen is born 15 AUG 1847 in Sør-Odal, Hedmark.

Census-1865 for the Laurvig farm.

If you are interested to see Edvards baptismal record it is the 4th from the top on right hand page here
it says
Hsmd (cotter) Anders Christensen, Laurvig, S. Ouli og Hustr. (wife) Dorthe Ejnarsdatter Søn (son) Edvard født (born) 15 August.
Difficult to find info on his siblings and their descendants since Andersen is such a common name and that living persons would be in the third generation after these siblings.

Edvard Andersen married Lina (Caroline) Sørensdr Oppstadsølie on 02 JAN 1868.

Caroline Sørensdr
Birth: 29 OCT 1846
Christening: 31 JAN 1847, Sør Odal, Hedmark
Parents: Søren Sjønnesen & Marthe Arnesdr

Her parents in census-1865.
Caroline died 02 JUL 1879 in Norsewood, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

I am a descendant of Edward and caroline Laurvig and live by Norsewood where they lived .
Lots of family info and photos, would love to make contact with other descendants
