I would like some help finding Johan Arnt Mikkelsen born Norway 16-03-1872 to Mikkel Matthessen and Ingaborg UNK.
They immigrated to Mankato, Minn 24.05.1876. I think he might have gone to Canada after 1910 but it is not known.
Thank you,
RS OREGON, USA

Johan Arnt was born in Frosta Parish #42, Nord Trønderlag, son of Mikael Magnus Mathisen and wife Ingeborg Martha Olsdatter. It looks like a farm name connected to them, something like Aunet, but I can’t read it. Can anybody help out?

The second godparent's last name looks like Aünet also. There are three Aunet farms listed in the 1900 census.

Great finding Trond, he was a hard nut to crack!

You are both right.
Ingeborg Martha Olsdatter was from Aune.

In the summer of 1910 Mikel Mathison (64) and Ingeborg (69) was on a trip back home to Frosta. When they returned to the US by Ellis Island they gave their final destination to be Winger, Minnesota. There might be some records to be found there.

There is also a Pioneer Mikael Mathiasen from Helgeland in Woonsocket, South Dakota in 1880, worth to check out.
