As you cxan see, I am still learning how to navigate this wonderful site. Until I become more proficient, I will create a new topic in order to send my thanks to those who assisted me in locating my HAUGLAND line. I am still trying to gain some knowledge on Norway. Trying to define a FARM is still something I am not completely sure of. If I understand correctly, a farm constitutes an entie agricultural area, and is not comparable with the definition of a farm, here in America It would be very useful, indeed, if there was a map of the entire country that would show the areas that are called farms, or Parishes, municipalities etc. Just a thought, Thank you Again for your assistance Dona |

A farm in Norway is the same as in the US.. it's a farm!
Like this one:
You have big farms, and you have small farms... mostly divided into how much land they own.
This big farm could e.g. have small holdings under it. The owner of the main farm lived in the houses in the middle, and tenant farmers lived in the small houses around, e.g. in the yellow rings marked on the picture.
