Looking for any information about Jorgine Pedersdr born around 1840 in Royston, Buskerud. She married Edvard Johansen and together they had a child named Petra Edvardsdr. I believe that Jorgine may have died before 1881, when Edvard immigrated to the US, but I have no idea what happened to their daughter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Erin Shanley

The district would be called Røyken in Buskerud.

They appear in the 1865 Norwegian census and that gives you information about where to look for the birth records of each of them.

1865 Haugene farm, Røyken

Edvard and Jørgine were married 11 October 1865:

Thanks Einar for the name correction to Johan Anthon. There must be a transcription error in the census.
Petra's birth name looks like Johana, born 13 Dec 1865:

The child born Dec 13 1865 was not Petra, it was a boy named Johan Anthon.
The brother born 1873 was Jørgen Emil.

It would be worth while to have a look at #29-34
it is Utflyttede from Røyken in 1881 - Edvard Johansen and Jørgine Pedersdatter with the children Jørgen Emil, Anton and Julius!
Birth record for Julius is #37

Wow! Thank you so much all of you for all of this information! Two days ago I had no idea who Edvard Johansen was married to before he came to the US, now I have a whole family! I am so excited to look into all of this a bit more to find out more about the family!

I was just wondering if anyone knew the Norwegian language and would be willing to help me translate some of these records. I think that by learning some of the sponsors of these children would help me in gaining more knowledge about aunts/uncles/cousins, etc!

I am very interested in learning of the sponsor names for each of the children and perhaps the heading titles of each column. I am trying to find any information to connect this family to my own besides having the same names, I am unsure if they truly are the right fit!
