Since the forum was first opened in July 2001 we have managed to keep it remarkable free of spam. However, today the spamers got ahead of us and was able to register an account and then post a message containing pornographic content on our forum. All this was done in an automated process using some kind of software. We became aware of the post within a few hours, and it was immediately removed. Even though we have no control over the content posted on the forum, and can not ensure it will not be offensive or objectionable, we like to say that we are very sorry for the incident.
As a result of what happened the forum policy has now been changed. The most important change being that registration to the forum has been restricted. New requests for registrations will be individually reviewed and approved by Forum Admin. This makes the registration process more complicated, and new members may have to wait a while before the Forum Admin can approve the request, but it is the price we have to pay to keep the forum clean.
We would also like to call for new moderators to the forum. Moderators are given rights to edit, delete, or prune any posts in the forums. They may also move topics to where they belong if not posted in the correct forum category. In addition they may split topics when new topics are posted as replies to old topics.This will help us respond quicker to inappropriate posts, and to keep the forum topics tidy.
