Hello: I'm seeking names of ships that carried Swedish immigrants. They arrived in Hull April 30, 1869 (S/S Albion) and April 26, 1872 (S/S Orlando) respectively and then depart "Hull" (I'm supposing from someother English Port) and sail to America. I'm am seeking the passenger's lists, but first I need to know the name of the ships. I have searched all ships from all English ports that is available on the web.

Thanks,

Vonda

Look for the lists of passengers arriving in America. You'll have to determine which port(s) they may have entered through and that is probably best determined from knowing where your unnamed Swedish persons first settled.

The S/S Albion looks to have arrived in Hull on or around April 26th, 1869. It left Christiana on April 23rd, and had a direct crossing, without connecting through Christiansand.

Some possibilities:
S/S City of London, departuring Liverpool on April 28th, arriving New York on May 8.
S/S City of Brooklyn, departuring Liverpool on May 5th, arriving New York on May 15.

Corresponding ships for the 1872 crossing:

Some possibilities:
S/S Manhattan, Liverpool - New York, arriving 1872-05-15
S/S Wisconsin, Liverpool - New York, arriving 1872-05-18
S/S England, Liverpool 1872-04-29? - New York, arriving 1872-05-18
S/S City of Brussels, Liverpool - New York, arriving 1872-05-19
S/S Republic, Liverpool 1872-05-02 - New York, arriving 1872-05-13
S/S Prussian, Liverpool 1872-05-02 - Quebec, arriving 1872-05-19
S/S Mississippi, Liverpool 1872-05-04 - Quebec, arriving 1872-05-19
S/S Germany, Liverpool 1872-05-06 - Quebec, arriving 1872-05-21
S/S Calabria, Liverpool 1872-05-07 - New York, arriving 1872-05-18

Hello Jan:

Thank you very much for the information on the Ships. I'll check them out to see if I might find a passenger list.
