Further to my message re "Seamans Registers, re Thomas Pedersen [Thompson] father of Andrew Thompson b about 1826.
I found a Thomas Pedersen as a 2 year old in Lister father Ped Poulson in Christiansand on the Digitalarkivet 1801 census. I think the Thompson may have been added by Andrew when he anglicized his name. I have not been able to find a marriage of Thomas Pedersen to Karen and don't know for sure whether this Thomas is the father of my Andrew, as having no birth date only approx. date and only Farsund as birthplace. Is there any way of trying to trace Andrew, his siblings if any and also if Thomas is his father. Andrew left Norway in 1861 before the 1865 census so am stuck there. This is where I come undone each time I'm on the Norway list. Hope someone can help. Thank you.
