I am looking for family history on
Tellef /Tellof (1873) & Alma/Alena Halvorson (1875). They were married in Norway , two of their children, Hans L & Ruth L were born in Norway and the family came to the US in 1903/04

They came from Skien south east at the coast in Telemark county.
Tellef was a painter journeyman, he was born in Brevik south of Skien town.

Tellef and Alma married Nov 9 1898, see #54
Tellef was renting room in Johan Reinertsens house, he was born in Brunlanes in 1873 and his father Hans Halvorsen was a master painter.
Alma was born in Skien in 1875 and christened Alma Alberta, her father was carpenter August Svendsen.
Tellefs baptismal record is #42
he was born Aug 27 and baptized Oct 26 1873. His parents were Hans Halvorsen and Kirsten Margrete Gundersdatter.
Alma Albertas baptismal record is #82
she was born April 1 and baptized June 13 1875. Her parents were August Svendsen and Lovise Marie Tollefsen.

Tellefs parents Hans Halvorsen and Kirsten Margrethe Gundersen were married June 5 1864, see #7
his father Hans Halvorsen was born June 4 and baptized Aug 2 1835 in Eidanger, see #10
his parents were Halvor Tronsen and Torborg Thorstensdatter,
his mother Kirsten Margrethe Gundersen was born July 29 and baptized Dec 29 1839 in Brevig, see #22
her parents were shoemaker Gunder Tollefsen and Maren Kristine Halvorsdatter.

Alma Albertas parents August Svendsen and Lovise Marie Tollefsen were married Nov 5 1874, see #23
August Svensson came from Sweden, he was born in Mariestad 1844 but his fathers name is not recorded. He came to Skien in 1872.
Lovise Marie was born Jan 29 and baptized April 3 1853 in Horten, see #64
her parents were musician Tollef Thorstensen and Stina Rasmusdatter.

Tellef Halvorsens grandfather Gunder Tollefsen in 1801
recorded as Gunner Tollofsen 3 years.
His parents Tollov Andersen (40 years old) and Goro Svendsdatter (29 years old).
Gunders baptismal record is dated August 20 1797

Hans Louis was born April 4 and baptized July 2 1899, see #71
The family were living in Duestien.

Ruth Lovise was born Dec 5 1900 and baptized July 28 1901, see #87
the family were then living in Mælegaden.

#8 - family living in Duestien. What does this mean? Is Duestien a street name or a village name or something else? ie: Duestien in Skien, Norway

Duestien is a street or road, due means Pigeon and stien means footpath.

See top line im the record abowe for a better understanding.

The three first columns exept the nr is day of birth "Fødselsdatum", day of christening "Daabsdatum" and possible christening at home "Hjemmebøbte".
5. column tells the the childs complete name.
6. show the parents complete name and occupation, the father was "Malersvend" Painter journeyman and the mother was "h" hustru/wife.
7. "Foreldrenes Bopel" The parents recidence. Duestien
8 & 9. column tells both parents year of birth.
10. column shows the godparents name and what farm they came from
11. "Om ægte eller uægte født" If the child was born in or outside the marriage.
12. "Ammærkinger" Marks, the name of the priest or who partispated, the parents ....
