I am a newbie to Norwegian genealogy and can use all the help anyone can offer. Seeking info on Amund Pedersen b. abt 1866 and Mari Ingeborg Olsdatter b. abt 1872. In 1900 I believe they were living Kraabelsmoen. Had female children Dorthea, Magna and Asta Pauline Amundsdatter. Male children were Petter and Anton Amundsen.

I believe Thea and possibly Petter immigrated to the US in 1908.

Is it just a wild coincidence that another thread is also running today on another message board which mentions Kraabølsmoen?
I'm hoping that persons are not unnecessarily duplicating efforts to find exactly the same info.

Search for same family?

Four lines down from Dorthea is Peter, and he is going to Minnesota. Both are leaving via Göteborg, Sweden.

I have some of that info and thanks for replying. What I am having problems with is when I try to search Norwegian records I find them mostly written in Norwegian and unfortunately do not read Norwegian. Is there web sites that have the translation? I have tried using a Norwegian to English look up dictionary and that does help some of the time. My other problem is how to search, do I search using the surname, farm, town, etc.? Again thanks.

Norwegian research is where I am having the most problem. I have some info on Peter after he immigrated to the US and quiet a bit on Dorthea (my grandmother). I am not sure how to search with the various names. Any tips anyone can offer is appreciated and thanks for your reply.
