Eric Caspersen born in Gran, Oppland in 1811 can be found here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9346&idx_id=9346&uid=ny&idx_side=-137

Number 78 on the right hand page. Is it correct that his baptismal date is June 22, 1811

Yes, I think I now see how to read the page. He was probably born (f for født )on the 22 of june and baptized (døpt) on June 30.

Thank you so much for your help.

There is a second ministerial book for 1811 Gran which muddies the waters for you. But better to have all the source info rather than not.

Bapt date is clearly June 30, but I read the birth date "f. 22 f.m." = født 22 forrige måned (born 22 last month) and this should be May 22.

Thank you all for your efforts. Yes, Hopkins your find may very wll be a better match. Your find lists the father as Casper Nielsen, my find only lists the name Casper. Your find lists the mother as Kirsti Hansdatter a better match than my find of Kirsti Havalsdatter.

I will need to do some more work to clear this up.

I have done a lot of research in the Gran and Jevnaker areas in years past and my first impression was that the family had a strong tie to one of Hval or Hvalby farms there. You read that as "Havalsdatter" and I immediately thought of the farm name mixed into a bit of difficult handwriting.

The Hadeland area of Gran, Jevnaker, Lunner, Brandbu is a fascinating research area.

Yes, they do. Recall that I first mentioned the subsequent records as being from the "second ministerial book" for that time period in Gran.
