Greetings from Omaha Nebraska USA.

Below is link to actual manifest of my ggg grandfather Andreas Olson Bakken to New York in 1869.

Questions.....From what you see in link, is the SS Columbia
the ship that actually took him across the ocean?

Does anyone have any photo illustrations or pictures
of what this ship actually looked like?

Link below - feel free to browse other Documents
from our website also. Regards Jerry Bakken Slominski

Hi,
yes, Andreas Olson (65) was on board the ship SS Columbia from The Anchor Line, which arrived New York on July 24th, 1869, sailing from Glasgow, Scotland.
He is travelling with his wife Anne Olson (64). They are from the Bakken farm in Nordre Fron, Oppland.
Their daughter Karen Andreasdatter (33) is also on board the ship, together with her husband Amund Mortensen (34) and their children Mathias (5 ½), Anne (3) and Amund (9 months). The family left Oslo on July 6th.
One "Amund Johannesen" (26) looks to be travelling with them. Not sure how he is related to the family...
