Would it be correct to say Lars Olsen was born at
Sundbratten or Finnbratten. Apparently, he went from Sundbratten or Finnbratten, to the Tandbergeie farm and then to Sundlokken??
- suggest to rely on the facts in parish records unless they are proven to be wrong. Normally when a farm name was added to the given name and the fathers name this was to distinguish between persons bearing the same given names and fathers names in order to state where they were living at the time. Also in this case "- bratten" should be changed to "- braaten" indicating a clearing, "- bratten" would indicate steep slope.

Hi,

In this case Tandbergeiet may equal Sundløkken and not mean a "different" place.

My 3Great Grandfather, Lars Olson Sunlokken, DOB 26Dec1784, lived there. He was born at Sund-Bratten, Nordehov Parish. He married Anne Gulbrandsdatter Trogstad, DOB June 1784, on 16 Nov 1811.
Have checked the 1801 telling but could not find anything on Sunlokken.
Thank you.

Jeff
