I read "1st Paaskedag wed Omblie Ole Kiøvoldsen og Thoron Vralsd."
1st day of Easter was April 6 - note also that the next two marriages are April 13 and April 26. Marriage #5 was on "Skiærtorsdag".
Oles bapt record Dom 12 p Trinit = Aug 17 1755, his parents were Kiøvold Knudsen and Thuri Olsdatter at Frigstad.

I don't suppose you ran into a baptisimal record for Thoron Vralsdatter. I looke through the parish records for Åmli from 1749 to 1760 without finding a crediable canidate. Now that could be because I did not look carefully enough of perhaps she comes from another parish. I would be interested in her parents.

The only reference I found that was close was

#23

But to my untrained eye the fathers name looks more like Alf than Wral or Vral. Any comments are appreciated.

In the 1801 census an Ole Vrolsen is listed at Frigstad, he could be Taarons brother if so their parents parents is Wraald Aadneson Miaaland and Anne Andresdatter. Ole was baptized Nov 7 1751.
Taaron is 2 years older than Ole.
Wraald Aadneson Miaaland and Anne Andresdatter were married July 16 1741.

Using the data you provided from the 1801 Census I find a child born to Wraald Aadneson and Anne Andresdatter Miaaland
Andres

Second from top on left page born Dom 9 Post Epiphaniam, which I guess would be translated to March 23 1749.

Thus the year is right but the name is wrong.

So we can conclude Wraald Aadneson Miaaland and Anne Andresdatter were not Thoron (Taarons) parents.

Wraald Aadneson had two girls named Taaran:

1) Taaran, chr 15 JUL 1742, Åmli, Aust-Agder
2) Taaran, chr 17 JUL 1746, Åmli, Aust-Agder

Taaran, chr 15 JUL 1742, Åmli, Aust-Agder was burried Febr 10 1743.
The one born in 1746 must be Ole Kiøvoldsens wife even though she is appr. 3 years older in 1801.

No the conclusion seems to be that I did not look hard enough, Thank you Jan Peter. I notice that neither of the two entries includes the mothers name, at least I could not find it. Was this done at the discretion of the local priest.

Can we conclude that the first Taaran died sometime before the second Taaran was born. This would make the 1801 census off slightly ie by about 2 or 3 years for the age of Taaran. . The second Taran would then be about 54 or 55 in 1801 Census. That seems reasonable and we have searched now from 1742 to 1760 without any better candidates than the two Taaran's.

Thanks much for your help, I learned a lot just doing the search.

Thanks for the help, I guess I was posting the questions about the same time you were answering them and did not see your last post until I had posted mine. Looks like all my questions here have been answered, Thanks again.
