I was hoping to find a specific burial date for Halvor Kristensen by looking at the 1722
parish record. I can see entries for baptism and betrothels but not for burial. Am I just missing the entries or were burials not recorded for this year.

You are right Anton, only engagement, marriage and baptism are recorded from1722.

Information rom the State-archives:
Church book 1704-1779 for born, marriage, konfirmation and dead was alternately recorded for the whole parish in the churchbooks for Evje, Hornes, Iveland and Vegusdal sub parish´s.
The same goes for 1780-1816.

Thanks for the tip Kċre, I checked the records for 1722 for Holver Kristensen Retterholt for all three, Evje, Hornes, and Iveland and while I did find several buriasl I did not find Halvor Kriistensen in 1722. I found the 1722 date from the Vegusdal Bygdebok and thought I would check for the original data. I will have to remember that the parishes did change through the years. I see in Opplysingningen 1881 that the farm Retterholt is now in Birkenes kommune.
