She was born 9. june 1888 in Austmarka/Vinger, worked in Oslo one time, emigrated with the ship Montebello 28.03.1908, and her measure was Minnesota. Have some heard about her? She was a half-sister to my grandmother.

There's noone named Karen Erlandsdatter on the Montebello for March 28th, 1908.
Do you have a link for the emigration?

Thank for the answer! I wrote her first name wrong, it should be BERTHEA ERLANDSDATTER. But I have forgot how I put the link in here. Can some tell me that?

Berthea's father was Erland Mattisen Bjørndalen, and he lived in varaldskogen, Berthea's mother was Ingeborg Pedersdatter Steinbråten, Varaldskogen, Vinger, Hedmark. Erland and Ingeborg were not married, Erland was married to my gr-grandmother Marthe who was from the same area. I found the confirmation in 1903 (Vinger) for Berthea, but later I did not find more about her here. I lokoked at emigrations and found her there when she emigr. to USA, and her adress was helgesensgt. 20, in Oslo i belive.

Thanks lyndal40! It must be Berthea! She was born in Østmarken (now Austmarka) in Vinger. I lives in Austmarka, an area in Kongsvinger city in Hedmark. Her mother was Ingeborg Pedersdatter or Pedersen, but Ingeborg didn't emigrate, or? Ingeborg was born 1846 and I belive she moved from Vinger to Oslo (Kristiania) with Berthea and I belive Ingeborg died in Oslo, I will try to found out that. I havn't found more about Ingeborg in Vinger. So fun! Thank you!!!

On a second reference to the same person her destination is listed as Albion, Minnesota. Albion is a township in Wright County, Minnesota. Do you know who it is that she knows in Albion. Another name might help. I cannot find her in the 1910 Census so she could be married by then.

Here is the second record.

Name: Bertha Erlandson
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Estimated birth year: abt 1888
Date of Arrival: 9 Apr 1908
Vessel: Empress of Britain
Search Ship Database: View the 'Empress of Britain' in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Port of Arrival: St John, New Brunswick
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England

I found the original passenger list for St. John, New Brunswick, Can., and I found 1 Bertha Erlandsen, who it's standing that she should move to Albion, Minnesota. If some will look at that lists, you can go to:
"Canadian Passenger lists 1865 - 1922 searchable". I think she can be her you found, lyndal40?

Bertha Erlandsen is at the page 21 if some will look at the passengerlists.

I don't who Bertha should visit in Minnesota, but many from her emigr. to Minnesota and it could be some she knowed or relatives. I will check about who another emigr. from her relatives or another from her.

Its fun if some can find her or event. kids. if she had kids, they have cousins here who are clear and between 80 -90 years old to day. My dad is 88 year old.

Bertha's mother Ingeborg Pedersen did marry 26.12.1869 to a man (Kristian) Christian Andersen, born 28.06.1837 in Vinger, Norway. Ingeborg and Christian got a daughter Pauline Christiansdt. born 3. July 1869 in Vinger. It says that Christian emigrated to USA, but I can't find him in emig.lists, but when Bertha was born, was Ingeborg a widow, so Christian died before 1888/89 in USA(?). I don't know when or where Chistian emigr., and I can't find Pauline as dead, confirmations here so maybe she did go with her dad to USA. Ingeborg didn't emigr. with them. Maybe Bertha had contact and emigr. to Pauline if she lived in USA? I will chech more here about Pauline if she stayed here.

Ingeborg Pedersen og (Kristian) Christian Andersen had 4 kids without Pauline, they were:

-Andreas Kristiansen, b: 29.12.1872, havn't found more about him.
-Olaf Kristiansen, b: 13.02.1876, emigr. to Halifax, Can. in 1892, with the ship Montebello. 16 year old (!) , I think he moved to his father.
-Ida Mathilde Kristiansen, b: 25.03.1878, emigr. 20.06.1902 to Boston, with the ship Montebello.
-Kasper Kristiansen, b: 21.05.1881, emigr. 22.04.1904 to Minnesota, with the ship Montebello.

Maybe they lived in Minnesota and Berthea moved to them?

I've found out that Bertha did marry (in ND?), to Hans A. Ahlsen, he was born ca 1875, where?. They got 2 daughters: Amelie, b: 1917 and Borghild, b: 1919 in Willingston, Williams county, ND. In the census 1930 the family lived in Spokane, Wahsington, Hans died ca 1930 in Spokane. Bertha moved, (I think ca 1930 after her husband died), one time back to Willingstone, ND, and she died there in Jan. 1972. Where did Amelie and Borghild take away?
