The family appears in the 1865 Norwegian census -
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=14&filnamn=f60816&gardpostnr=490&sokefelt=skjul

Which of the parish church records at the Digitalarkivet website have you already searched through for events and/or leaving records of Karoline's siblings?

I have been informed that GM Karoline's sister Pauline also emmigrated to the USA but I have not located her via Ellis Island lists- so I tried to find a record of her marriage (if so) in the parish records but no success. Also have searched US census records with no results. Our grand parents did't leave us any info on their family members. GF Ole's siblings all died in Noway so I don't believe any of them lived in US. I believe my best chance of finding relatives here in US would be thru either Pauline Jacobine or brother Johan Cornelius.
I've received great assistance over the past year from Norway and really appreciate all the help that you friends provide. Jim

Ellis Island was only one of many arrival ports that emigrants may have arrived at. Ellis Island wasn't even opened until the 1890's.

If you are looking for relatives in the US - look back to records generated in the area you called Cadillac, Michigan. When she (GM) had children who were the persons chosen as baptismal sponsors? Who might be mentioned in the local newspaper when GM had relatives visit or when she may have travelled to visit others? Who was mentioned in her obituary?
