Thanks again for your help with my research.

Still trying to locate my g-grandpa - Johan Georg Halberg and not finding anything. Would like to find his birth, death and parents record if possible. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

All I have is he was born in Lund, Skane, Sweden around 1838 to 1842. Unfortunately do not have an exact date.

Also trying to locate Otto Johansen (he went by this name as far as I can see). Can't seem to find out where he went to after 1900.

Are there any records past 1900 that a person can search through?

Hi.
You are right about Halberg was a Swede.
Did he emigrate from Norway?

A candidate? Johan Halberg from Ørebro County in Sweden emigrated from Oslo 1887 on ship Island, dest. was Salina, Kansas, see here

Lund is in southern Sweden not fare from the Danish capitol Copenhagen.

Ørebro is north from Lund not fare west from the Swedish capitol Stockholm.

You could ask Swedish Anbytarform here

There were 94 Otto Johansen living in Norway 1900.

About when was Otto born?

The 1910 census for Norway will be avilable this year.

Good Luck

In 1900 your grandfather's brother, Otto Johansen, was a deck boy and and was at sea. His whereabouts after that is not easy to find.
Of course it would have been more informative if you had continued this topic
In the hyperlink #11 it is stated that your g-grandfather was born 1838 and that he was a stone mason. In that record his name is given as Johan Jørg, Halberg.
From the same topic Ottos baptismal record #6 the fathers name is given as Johan Johannesen, Halberg and he is a mason.

Otto Johansen was born Feb 2/1882 - Flekkefjord, Vest-Agder, Norway. I am not sure if he went by Johansen or Johansen Halberg it doesn't indicate on the 1900 census.

The 1910 census might help alot that is good it will be available.

As for Johan do not know if he emigrated from Norway or immigrated from Norway. My g-father Johannes Wilhelm born in 1884 May 19 gives his mother as his living relative on his 1916 war records. Can't seem to find any record from 1900 on his parents, Johan Georg Halberg and Velene Villadsdatter. Have managed to find Velene's parents and her date of birth and marriage date so that was good luck.
Thanks for your info and the sites to look at. Much appreciated.

If all of this comment is related to Otto I am afraid that you have not understood the info I have given. Please take a look at the baptismal record for Otto (click on #6 in my posting!) Otto was born February 8 1882 and bapticed March 12 same year.
Based on Norwegian naming practice at that time his name should be Otto Johansen. In the US he may have chosen other last names.

- yes you got most of this in your other topic
"Your g-grandmother Welene Willumsdatter was born Jan 19 1850, see #6, and she was confirmed 1864, see #26 Velene Villasdatter.
Her father was Villas Vilhelmsen and the mother Anne Gurine Olsdatter."
The info on marriage date for Velene that you got would be interesting to see.
