Theordore Henriksen and his wife Gunda Henriksen were passengers on the SS Bergensfjord arriving in NY on 18 May 1923. Is there a way to figure out if they were just visiting the US or if they stayed? I do not find records for them in the US?

They were married in Vestre Fredrikstad #11

Source information: Østfold county, Vestre Fredrikstad, Parish register copy nr. 1 (1880-1900), Marriage records 1881, page 268.

Trying to reconstruct this family. She was a sister to my g grandfather.

Thanks

Hi,
Gunda and Theodor were going to their son Thomas Henriksen in Wappanacco ave, Rye, N.Y.
They intended to stay in the US for 2.5 months, and then return to Norway.

Thanks. How did you figure that out? Where would I go to see that information in the future? At least I now know they had a son Thomas!

much appreciated.

Hi,
it is written on the SS Bergensfjord manifest for the arrival you stated, at the Ellis Island database.

Thank you. this helped a lot and have added all to my tree. I have also found the obituary for the above Lillian Henriksen which gives me the names of a niece and nephew who should still be alive so I will try to find them and see if they have information or family pictures.
