I am looking for information on emigrants Thor Staven and his bride Barbro Myolid/Mjolid (whom he married in Norway) and their parents and siblings. They came to the USA in 1874 with their seven children--Arni, Truls, Tollef, Paul, Gertrude, Iver and Knute, who were born in Norway. They came to Spring Grove, Minn. Thor Stavn was born Sept 8, 1820, in Kalsrud, Norway, and grew up in Trostheim in Flaa. Thor's father was Aadne Gjeringo from Gol. His mother's name was perhaps Christi Gullingsrud. Thor married Barbro Myolid, daughter of Truls Gjeirteryg and Gjertrud Paulsdatter Reud. Barbro came from a large Gaard or farm in Sohndalen to Ness. She was born Sept. 1, 1838. Thor was a farmer. They were Lutherans. Any information on them would be most appreciated! Thank you!

Are you looking for help finding a passenger list/ship or is this a general genealogy quest?

Sorry to include extraneous info. in this forum (I've posted a few general genealogy msgs). Among other things, I'm looking for passenger info.

I have found the information I was looking for; it just took me a little while to figure out how to search the digital archives at http://digitalarkivet.uib.no:

"Thorer Arneson" traveled with "Barbro Trulsdatter" on June 18, 1874, on the Hakon Adelsten line (Freight: 202.00), heading for "Brownswille Min." from "Næs Hallingdal". Only 6 of their 7 children that traveled with them appear to be listed; the oldest is missing (although I will double-check this). So now I will post a listing for further info. in General Genealogy.

I'm posting this so no one spends time trying to find this information. Thanks so much.
