Sogndahl:
Niels Andersen/Sigri Torkildsdatter had a daughter, Brithe baptized 13 Jan 1805. Sigri dies and later Niels marries Sigri's sister Guri Torkildsdatter. They have a daughter that is baptized Brithe on 14 Jan 1809.

Is there a death record available for Brithe #1?

According to the naming custom, can it be assumed that Brithe #1 died sometime between 1805 and 1809 when Brithe #2 is born?

Also can you translate the word sødskende that I find in the census? Thank you very much for your insight and help.

You are right.
The first Brithe was baptized on 25 Mar 1801, Sigri was baptized 13 Jan 1805. The second Brithe was baptized on 14 Jan 1809. Thanks for the correction!

Did you find a death record for a young Brithe/Brite, daughter of Niels Anders. Skjede in the Sogndal parish records? Search in the the records after 25 Mar 1801 and before 14 Jan 1809 - even more likely after 13 Jan 1805.
