| My Great Grandfather, Peer Vold (Peder Paulsen) was born 1817 on Vold Farm, Furnes, Hedmark, Norway. I have been able to confirm the farm was still in operation by his "cousins" around 1900. I would like to know where Vold farm is or was in Furnes. Was it acquired by another farm, become part of a town or city, or ??? Also Peder's father Pal Johannssen was born on Gresby farm, Hedmark. I presume this farm was in the vicinity of Vold farm. Does anyone have knowledge of or where I might find out what happened to this farm? Finally, my great-grandfather, Peer (Peder) operated an inn at Stavberg, Hedmark,for about 6 years. They had a daughter Caroline Gustava while living there. I presume this inn is in the vicinity of the current Hamar airport. ?? In all Peer and his wife Charlotte had 3 children, Pauline, Caroline, and Carl August. (My Grandfather Oscar August Vold [Levanger] was born out of wedlock, Peer being the father.) Ill heath plagued this extended family (many dying in their youth or early adulthood) and I don't know if Pauline and Caroline lived to adulthood. Carl is listed in the 1875 census, married and living in Oslo, but no further record of this family exist that I can find. Any information or additional resources would be helpful. thank you. |

The Voll farm are still in operation, but the city border are getting close.... 
It's located in Hamar municipality, just on the border to Ringsaker. Most of Furnes was joined into Ringsaker municipality in 1964, but not the Voll farm. Not sure why...
Hamar Stavsberg Airport (HMR) is just north-east of the Voll farm, and opposite the runway, you have Stavsberg Hotel, marked with an "A" below.

Just in case you did not know the following:
Your great grandfather had a sister Berthe, born Febr 3 1810, and a brother Michel born Aug 29 1807.
The brother Johans was born March 28 1805 and the sister Gunor Nov 28 1803.
Your gg-grandmother Pernille was born Oct 14 1781. Her parents were Michael Vold (Michel Pouelsen) and Boel Andersdatter.
The marriage record of Nov 15 1802 for widower Povel Johansen, Nerqvern and Pernille Michelsdatter, Wold is #13.
Povel Johannesen was baptized July 28 1758. His parents were Johannes Povelsen and Marie Taalesdatter.

| Takk saa mye for dette opplysning. Jeg leser Norsk, men daarlig, og skriver det...even worse. Because I read Norwegian albeit poorly, I have read the Bygdde boks fra Furnes, Hedmark, extensively...hence the information I have on the Vold and Gresby farms and Peder (Peers) managing of the inn at Stavberg. I am aware of Peer's half sister Berte, as well as Peer's other brother's and sisters. Berte and her husband Bernt Andersen operated the farm with children Anders, Johannes, Gonner, Olav, Birger and Karen. Some of those children still alive were listed in the 1900 census. That's how I know the farm was still in existence to that point. This has been an obsession of mine for close to 10 years now to find more information on my biological family line. Unfortunately, I do not think Peer has any family other than my grandfather Oscar with extended ancestry. I can find no spouses for Pauline and Caroline and Carl August was married, but I have not found that there were any children from that marriage. ??? It would be interesting to know if "Vold's" still operated the farm, but on the other hand don't feel it appropriate to "disturb" them. |

| John, were you able to find more information about Vold farm? My paternal ancestors are from this farm beginning with my 4th GGF Even Olsen. |
