I am looking at the death record of Gunild Larsdatter who died on Sept 4 1898 in Talvik.

The image is seen here: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=3748&idx_id=3748&uid=ny&idx_side=-143

I think I understand the column headings but I want to be sure.
1 is the number of the entry
2 is the date of death
3 is the date of burial with another column and I don't know what it means
4. The deceased name
5. I need clarification here, but I think it is the name of the spouse or father if not married, but I am not sure
6 is the year of birth with the age in years and months
7 is the birth place
8 is the residence
9 I don't understand
10 I don't understand
11 I don't understand
12 is for remarks

In the case of Gunild's entry, I am trying to read the entry in Column 5. Am I correct in assuming this is her husband and his name is Hans Henrick Andersen?
I am also trying to read columns 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Can someone help me understand these?

Thank you so much
12

8. Residence
9. Cause of death
10. Was doctor called during last illness?

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/na20.html

The standard column headings translations are included in that article.

Hi,
I am trying to translate the death/burial record for my ancestor - Johan Albert Adolf Johanessen. #114-98 - Oct 15 date of death, Oct 21 burial date, Sailor Olaus Johansen - son, Johan Albert Adolf - born July 12, 1874 in Myragaten (street in Fredrikstad I believe), but what is the word in the next column? NOTE - I do have a record of his birth/baptism and Johan Adolf Albert was actually born 12 July 1874 and baptized Aug. 23, 1874.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's the cause of death scarlet fever of which there are at least 3 on this page and two at Myragarten. Not sure what the second word underneath scarlet fever is, though and it only appears on your entry of interest.
