I am looking for information on my Step Great Grandfather Lyder Johan Steen his daugher was Klara Joafine Steen born 1881.
I believe he was a Sea Captain. It would be nice to know anything about his career. I do believe he was from Bergen

His daughter Clara Josephine was born Febr 11 1881 in Nykirken Bergen, see #53
First mate Lyder Steen (b 1847) and his wife Synneve Johnsen (b 1848) were recorded in Hans Haugesgade 8b in the 1900 census. 3 of their children recorded at the same address.
In 1910 he is a retired captain and his wife is Magdalene. The family now lives at Sandviksvei, ny 56a.

Lyder Johan was born July 4 1846, see #55. His parents were sailor Lorents Olsen Steen and Ingeborg Rasmusdatter.
