Mathias Olsen, son of Ole Johannesson and Anne Olsdtr. was born 22 of June, 1840 at Skaars-eic, Gausdal, Norway. I have a list of his siblings and parents, but am wondering what happened to him? If anyone has any info. on him, I would be interested in finding out if he married and had children. Thank you, Dusty

One Mathias Olsen, born in Gausdal 1840 is in Lillehammer 1865
Since only one Mathias Olsen was born in Gausdal 1840, it is likely the one you are looking for.

Countries trader (shop keeper) Mathias Olsen, who was born 1840 in Gausdal, married Antonette Gulbrandsdatter April 4 1873, see #18, his father was Ole Johansen (could have been Johannesen). Again since only one Mathias Olsen was born in Gausdal in 1840 this is most likely the same Mathias. Note also that the Mathias Olsen in Lillehammer 1865 was a salesman (working in a shop).

Yes, this Mathias does fit the person I was looking for. Ole's name has been shown as "Johansen" as often in the records as "Johannesen". Thank you for your great help! -Dusty

:) Thank you Les! This is very helpful information as it now only shows me where they are living, it also gives me a list of their children. I appreciate all the help you have given me!
