I think this web site has the potential of becoming a nice resource for people of Norwegian heritage all over the world, and maybe it can help strengthen the ties between people.
Your friend Erik Bye has done a great job in documenting the "Norwegian America" in the past. I love to watch his programs from the travels among the Norwegian settlers in the US. He also has done many good maritime programs. I never stop hoping the NRK will resend some of his programs.
I met Erik Bye in 1975 in Lier. We have kept in touch. He did an NRK piece Even and Hans Heg and the Civil War, entitled, "Hvem var du Menig Gudmundson." It features the Heg statue in Lier and an interview with yours truly. It ran about a year ago. Unfortunately, Erik is in very poor health and refuses to take care of himself. He has a very bad case of Macular Degeneration. This has slowed him a great deal. He is a great Man!
Is your Swiggum partner the one involved with the shiplist.com web site? That is also a very interesting place to go.
Yes, Sue Swiggum is running the TSL mailing list and TheShipsList web site. I think that is taking up most of her time, so she is more like a "sleeping partner" with the NorwayHeritage project for the moment.
