Hi.
Jahn Warme 36 and wife Anne Cathrine Rosenberg 46 moved out of Slemdal (Siljan) 1815, sertficate dated Jan. 1816, and settled down in Gjerpen (Skien) because he was "antaget" employed as "Masovnmester" Blast furnace Master (is it a correct word in English?) on Fossum Works, right page #11

Good find Kċre!
In Olava Paulines baptismal record it says the father was Masovnmester Jahn Warme ved Fossum Vĉrk - should have been able to read that earlier.

Hi.
This was a difficult topic to search in Einar with all the dif. parish´s since the borders changed several times through the years and with two Jan Warme.
I also belive he came from Ulefos as mentioned in your reply when he married 2. time to Anne Cathrine Rosenberg Stubberĝd in Hedrum municipality 1805, "Jan Warme fra Ulefos".

Jan Warme maried 1. time 1803 to Anne Elisabeth Svensen in Holla parish in Nome parish and Ulefoss is a district in Nome.
Holla parish merged with Lunde parish 1964 to Nome municipality.
At that time he probably worked in Holla Iron works which later became Ulefos Iron foundry

I found the 1835 census for Fossum.
There were total 88 families living on Fossum works in 1835.
Jan Warme is family nr 32.

It correspond with the info above.

This link includes two photos from Moholt, the Blast furnace "Masovnen" and the coal celler for charcoal "Kullkjelleren" contained 4000 m3 of coal.

Add info reg. Moholt here

A translation of the 1835 info. can be done here later if you are interested.

I see an interesting parallel here, after reading the comments.

I descend from Christian Julius Johannes Knutzen, who was the son of Knud Olaus Knutzen. The interesting thing is that the originator of this topic, who descends from a separate Christian Knutson, also descends from the Warme family.

Knud Olaus Knutzen (b 9/16/1805 in Boe) of my line was son of Berthe Maria Warme and Ole Christian Knutzen. I unfortunately know very little about Ole Christian Knutzen, aside from him being an Ironworker. Eager to learn more, if anybody is aware.

I have a bit of information about the Warme family that I am willing to share if anybody is interested.
