Hei

I am looking for my great grandmother, Agnes Johnson. She was born in
Norway,Løten 1882, babtized Anette Ringnes Andersen, her parents were
Petrine and Ole Andersen. She went to the US in 1904, on the ship
Montebello to Boston. She left her two children in Norway, Per
(b.1901, my grandfather) and Anbjørg (b.1903). She married Emil
Johnson from Sweden 1910. They got three daughters, Esther (B.1911),
Helen (b.1913) and Marion (b.1920). In the 1930 census they lived in
Grover Township, Marinette County, Wisconsin.
We know that Agnes died the 5 of September, 1959.

We would appreciate your assistance in finding her descendants.

Sincerely,

Per Jakob Haugaa

What did you find out about Esther Stichmann, b 06 May 1913?
I think she could be a good clue. Esther Stichmann died in 1998 in Kewaunee, Wisconsin

Emil & Agnes Johnson's daughter Esther Victoria Johnson was born on that date, 06 May 1913.

Hi,

Esther Stichmann's maiden name was revealed to be Kuehl not Johnson, so that's why Per is continuing his search.

We got the birth sertificate of Marion Agnes Johnson from the Wisconsin Vital State Office. She was born the 8th of February, 1920, in Grover Village, Marinette.
Lets hope we can find her descendants..!

Looking over the large number of places you have posted this query and the small amount of information you have obtained on the descendants of Agnes Johnson, you may have to take a different approach. It would seem that of the three daughters born in 1911 to 1920 that one or more of them probably married in the 1930 to 1950 time frame, probably in Wisconsin. Someone who lives in Wisconsin might be able to search though local records not availabel on-line and find newspaper records or state records for the marriages. I do not know if you can find someone who would do this work for a reasonable fee but that might be the way you will have to go if you want to complete the search. This person could be someone living in Marinette Wisconsin who wold have access to the local newspapers and local records or some one living in Madison Wisconsin with access to the state records.

Here are some websites that might provide you with a way to access records only availabe to someone living in one of the two areas, Marinette or Madison.

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wimarine/
Has an e-mal address that you could try and send a query to in Marinette County.

Another site with an e-mail address that might be useable for Marinette County.
http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/localhistory/directory/viewsociety.asp?id=260

It might be too expensive for what you want to do, but here are genealogists for hire in Madison Wisconsin.

Here is a link to the Marinette County Library. They may keep copies of newspapers from the 1930's and 1950's, and may be able to find an obituary for Agnes.

Quickly checking the SSDI at www.genealogybank.com for Marion _____ b. 1920 SSN issued Wisconson found 225 and none with birthdate of 8 Feb.

checking for Marian _____b. 1920 SSN issued Wisconsin found 121 and only one with a birthdate of 8 Feb 1920. Her name was Marian E. Moth, but her maiden name was found as Schwartzlow at www.rootsweb.com

checking for Marianne ____ b. 1920 SSN issued Wisconsin
found 10, none with 8 Feb birthdate

Marion / Marian / Marianne may still be alive.
Her SSN may have been issued in some other state than Wisc.
Her name may be spelled in some other version.
She may have died without getting a Social Security death benefit.
Her birthdate may be recorded in Social Security system as some other date.

No luck today!

Per, I know you have posted on a large number of Ancestry message boards but have not yet got the answer you are looking for. You need to have some person make the effort to walk into the Marinette Library or Courthouse and do a look up. Your latest post that I found was in the Marinette Message Board of Ancestry.com. You posted on Feb 19th with no replies yet, but it is only been a few days so maybe it will happen yet. However if you look at the Thread, you can see some other messages of a similar nature to yours where some local people did try to find either obituaries or death certificates. Since I have an Ancestry.com subscription I sent a message to three of those people asking if they could help out here and find either a Obit or a Death Certificate for Agnes Johnson d Sept 5, 1958. Hopefully one of these three will be able to find the information you want.

This might be the Alfred Francour mentioned in the obit above, if so he died fairly recently.

If I read the partial obit correctly above, it indicates that Agnes had a sister who was married to a Christ Synstad. If so this must be her, she passed away in 1971.
