A number of the children of Ole Gunderson Brettingen and Dorte Audensdatter Brænd departed from Sollia, Hedmark, Norway.

Marit and Gulbrand left Sollia on 9 May 1869
Ouden, Helene, and Mathea left Sollia on 20 June 1881
Ole and Karen left Sollia on 27 Feb 1882

I would like to know when and where they arrived and especially the city they were headed for.

Could someone help me know how I could find this information? Where would I look?

Thank you so much.

Pam, the closest Norwegian port of departure to Hedmark would probably have been Oslo/Kristiania so that would make the logical first place to check.

The Digitalarkivet website has a good number of the surviving emigration registers for various Norwegian ports available in database form that can be searched by anyone with Internet access.
The Oslo/Kristiania emigration records are also available through the LDS Family History Library and local Centers for study on microfilm.

This might be Olaf Olson arriving in America. The Ancestry.com record states that he is Swedish but the orginal manifest lists him as from Norway. One of the other passengers on this ship is Geo Olson, age 39, occupation livery stable keeper.

There is a trio of Mathea, Helene, and Anden O. using the last name of Brettingen leaving for Peterson Minnesota in 1881.
