tovkje: Nice to meet you, it appears we are cousins! If Olaug is your great grandmother, we would be second cousins once removed. Inger Kirstine Ingebretsdtr. Carlson (Bękken [Nylend]) (1877 - 1957) , who was Olaug's mother, is your great-great grandmother. Inger had a son, Alfred Carlson (pictured above in jwiborg's post) who would have been Olaug's half brother, and your great great uncle. Alfred was also my grandfather. Which I believe would make us second cousins once removed. My great aunts Inga and Mildred (Olaug's half sisters) had done some research into our family history, however they have both passed, and I'm afraid I've had to nearly start over.

Jan Peter: yes, that is the correct family information, linked from my geni page ;-) Alfred Carlson is my grandfather.
