I find a new interest in this vessel/voyage. I found that Even Hansen Heg's sister, Marte Hansdtr and her husband, Kristian Larson, with family made this voyage. I understand that Næseth published the passenger list in his Vol. I Can you confirm? Will you be publishing the pass. list for this voyage? Jim Heg

I can confirm that the Johanna passengers are listed in the Næseth book, and I have a copy of the original list ready to transcribe. I find a Martha Skogen age 57 and son? Martin age 22, but not Kristian Larsen.

Børge - It tracks a bit. Recall that I asked you for Wood in Norwegian? Skoven was what I was looking for. Marthe Hansdtr Skoven was Even Hansen Heg's sister and Martin Christiansen Skoven was her son. Marthe married a Kristian Larson. I have been told(recently) that they had five children, Lars, Sønne, Helene, Martin and Hans. It would have been great if those old Norwegians could have made up their minds about what their names were! (Bad sentence structure.)Mr. Larson may have died and Even Heg probably sent for her and her family. Even Heg was relatively well off for those days.
Hans Kristiansen Skoven became Hans Wood in the U.S.A.He is mentioned quite often in Colonel Heg's letters, but no one, including Professor Blegen ever uncovered the fact that they were first cousins!
This is agood example of why we all need to keep working the problem!
