I have found a Rasta in Akershus and also maybe an Ulven in Akershus?
- I believe the farms Raastad and Ulven which you are interested in are the ones in Lunner parish, Oppland. (these farm names can be found many other places).

So the record lists the fathers name only? who or what is "Fadd Paal, Marthe and Guro Raastad."? I can get that to translate.

Thanks

Fadd is probably an abbreviation for faddernes--witnesses i.e. godparents

Nils Jakob Fredriksen married in Mandal 1851 is definitly one of the sons. In The pastor's chuch book the age is 22 in 1851, what probably is right.

He is in Kristiansand in 1865 census

Wife Sofie Marie Pedersdatter, born 24. Sept 1823

Thank you! Trying to find them after the 1865 census and not having any luck. Perhaps they had left Norway by the 1875 census?

The 1875 census does not include every parish, so unsuccessful searches in it may mean they lived in a census area that has not been completed, rather than they left for America.
