I am searching for my grt grand parents Iver Iverson and Berthe Maria Andersdatter records in Norway. They were both born approx. 1823 and came from Solar Osterdalen Norway. They came to the U.S. in 1865 and settled in Minnesota.
I found an Iver Iverson confirmation record in Hof church book in 1839 on pg 1084. He was 16 yrs old. I am unable to locate him at a later date to see if I can connect him to a marriage to Berthe Maria or if this may or may not be my gr. grandfather. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Where in Minnesota did they settle? Do you have any census information on them? Name of their children?

QUERY states: "Bertha (Berte) Marie Andersdatter... married Iver Iverson in Norway, had a daughter, Johanna born 29 December 1856 in Sole?? Norway.."

11 January 2009 Reply:

"Berte Marie Andersdatter born June 20 1825 was bapt in Hof Hedmark July 3 1825, see #110 She was born out of wedlock, her mother was Berte Bergersdatter from a cottar place under Glorvigen and the father was Anders Haagensen from Mellem. Berte Marie was confirmed in Hof in 1841, see #20"

ANSWER:
"I will continue to try to find their daughter, my great aunt, Johanna, to verify if this is the correct Bertha Marie Andersdatter." From this we know Johanne lived and likely immigrated to USA.

Thank you for replying. I appreciate your help very much.
The question I have is where in Norway did my great grandparents come from and to make the marriage connection to Bertha Maria and their daughter Johanna's birth. Johanna was born 12/29/1856 in Sole?, Norway. I have not been able to find her birth in the church records or Iver and Bertha's marriage records. I know their Minnesota info from 1865 to present time. I have the 1870, 1885, I895, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses. They lived in Dakota Co., Renville Co., Polk Co. and Beltrami County, Mn.
Iver and Bertha had 3 children that lived in the U.S. The 1910 census says she had 9 children and 3 were living. Therefore, she had other children born in Norway besides Johanna. I do not know where. Thank you all again for your help.

Y.o.b. (1896) is obviously wrong. Census-1900 says May 1825. Berte Marie Andersdatter from Hof above is born June 20 1825. Solør in Hedmark covers Brandval, Grue, Hof, Åsnes and Våler.

Census-1870 for Renville, Minnesota:
Ives Jaerson, 1823
Marn Jaerson, 1823
Johanne Jaerson, 1859
Behmer Jaerson, 1867
Iver Jaerson, 1869

Probably Iver Iverson's brother Halvor and father Iver in the 1865 Census.

Judy Smerud and I had the same "brick wall". She passed away and I am still looking for our gr. grandparents info. We were unable to find the connection of Iver Iverson and Bertha Maria Andersdtr and the birth of their children in Norway. Johanna was a daughter born 12/29/1856 or 1858 in Sole ??, Norway. They had 6 other children born in Norway per the 1900 and 1910 census of Beltrami County, Mn.
The Iver Iverson family history from Polk County is my family. Bertha's bdate is incorrect- s/b 5/20/1823-1825. On the 1870 census Iver and Bertha were both 47 yrs old. 1823 w/b the birth year. Iver Iverson died in 1896 and is buried at the St. Petri Cemetery in Nielsville, Mn.
Thank you all again for your help with the info on this Iver Iverson and hopefully he is my gr. grandfather and I will keep trying to find the connection. If anyone finds any further info, please let me know. Thanks again.
