My great-grandparents emigrated from Norway to Canada in 1907. Per the Digitalarkivet: Emigrants sailing from Kristiania 1871-1921 their names were: Karl Alfred Andreass. Nerengen (Ols.)born 05.01.85, Marie Nerengen b. 24.10.86 and daughter Elise Marie Nerengen b. 23.04.07. I believe Nerengen is the farm name. Their residence was listed as Lunner (Nittedalen). They emigrated on June 8, 1907 on the ship OSLO, under the agent Bennett and their destination was B.C. Canada. I assume they sailed from Oslo to Hull, and then onwards. Once in Canada they went by the names Carl Alfred Olsen, Marie Olsen and Elise Olsen. How would I find out which ship they sailed across on? My grandmother remembers her father talking about seeing the statue of Liberty so I think they must have come through New York, and have tried to search Ellis Island with all the above names. Do you have any ideas where I should be looking next? Thank you.

Hi

Bennet was the general agent for the Allan Line in 1907. Here is a link to a page showing the agent's authorization, the Allan Line routes of 1907, and the fleet list. If they entered via New York you should be able to find the family in the Ellis Island database. However, I find it strange that they should enter via New York, as their destination was B. C. Canada, which indicates a Canadian arrival. There is some more info on how to find the passenger lists in the article Hunting Passenger Lists.

Hi,
My great grandmother came from Kristiana through the same route. She boarded the Angelo, which took her to Hull, England. From there, she came to Canada on board the S.S. Sardinian. I believe this is one of the ships that ran that route quite often although I don't know if it did in 1907.
