Am looking for birthdate, parents, siblings of Inger Kerma Kyllingstad. The info. I have is that she was born abt 1880 or Jul 1880 in Time, Rogaland. On the parish records, they did not have those years for Time.
I am told she immigrated in 1900 to the U.S.A. Any info. would be great.

Hello again, I forgot to mention, that Inger Kerma Kyllingstad's father is Aadne(Adne) Olsen born about 1829. Her mother was Dorte Sofia Nilsdtr originally from a third district in Rogaland just a bit south of Gjesdal and Time. She had several older brothers, Ole, Nickolai, Emmanuel and Lars and maybe more. I found this info. on the net.
Thank you,

Excellent information. Never thought would ever find out Inger's full birthdate. Wonder why her name seems to be known as Inger Kerma and not Inger Serine? Was Inger baptised in Time or Gjesdal then? Am curious where you found her record.
Thank you,
Diane

When you click on #29 you'l see
Rogaland fylke, Gjesdal i Lye, Klokkerbok nr. B 5 (1875-1886) - parish register used for her bapt.

Thanks again Einar. Am wondering, if I'm reading this right. Was the first Inger Serine born 21 Apr and baptised or died 25 May? And Emmanuel born 8 Mar and baptised or died on the 31st?
Also wondering if I can find out for sure, when Inger immigrated to America. The information I found says 1900.

Records show birth date and baptism date. (Death dates have to be found in separate registers)

Immigrant records from Rogaland are difficult to find if at all present. No hit from the search so far.

Thank you for trying. Will go to the Parish Records and maybe there's a part under Lye, to look up, with earlier dates.. Guess there's no census that has Inger's name in it? I'll do some looking too.

Can not find a census with Inger Serine's name in it. On top I should have put Lerma instead of Kerma for the second name, she goes by now). If someone can help with that, would be great.

Hi
In 1900 there were 9 Kyllingstad farms in Gjesdal.
Not sure which farm your folks lived on, but almost half way down in Arne Kyllingstads photobase of farms in Gjesdal he has 9 photos of Kyllingstad

The 1891 census for Gjesdal is still not online.
This family was very poor in 1875, Aadne was a black smith, but with wife and 5 children from age one to ten he was supported by the community which was not unusual.
