I am looing for a Laurits Tveit who owned a big farm in Tilford South Dakota,any information would be great,trying to find kniving descendants of mr Tveit and maybee the farm in Tilford.

Lewis Tveidt (1914-2001)
STURGIS - Lewis Tveidt, 87, Sturgis, died quietly on Friday morning, July 20, 2001, at his residence.
Lewis was born at Arpan, S.D., on Jan. 24, 1914, to Lauritz and Kristiana (Olson) Tveidt. He grew up in the Arpan area and attended rural Butte County School. The family moved to the Tilford, S.D., area in 1930. There, Lewis was very active in the Blair Skating Rink at Tilford. He was married to Esther Hanson at Sturgis on May 26, 1946. In 1947, the couple moved to the family farm at the mouth of Boulder Canyon, where they ran a dairy, ranched and farmed.
In his younger days, he broke horses and was very active in bowling. He also loved woodworking and his sawmill, and playing cards with friends. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Tveidt, Sturgis; one son, DeWayne Tveidt, Sturgis; one daughter, Eileen Hodges, and her husband, Neil, of Sturgis; two grandchildren, Darin and Estell; and one great-grandson, Nicholas. Also one brother, Sig Tveidt, Pleasant Valley; and two sisters, Hilda and George Wiessner of Denver, Colo., and Thelma Wiessner of Spearfish survive. Also numerous nieces and nephews are surviving.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel and before services at the church on Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, with the Rev. Howard Smith officiating, and burial at the Bear Butte Cemetery.
A memorial to the Home Health and Hospice Care Unit in Sturgis has been established.

Sigvald "Sig" Tveidt (1918-2010)
Sigvold "Sig" Tveidt was born June 11, 1918, at Arpan, SD, to Lauritz and Kristina (Olson) Tveidt.
He was one of twelve children. Sig moved with his family to Pleasant Valley in December of 1930.
Sig ranched and farmed on the home place in Pleasant Valley.
Sig married Mary Esther Gees on October 24, 1950, in Deadwood, SD. They had two sons, Roger and Bernie Tveidt.
In 1963, he started a dairy and sold milk to the Sturgis Cheese Factory. Mary passed away in October of 1966.
His sons, Roger and Bernie, took the dairy over in 1975. He was a member of the South Dakota Stock Growers Association
and supported the local 4-H clubs. He enjoyed winter sports such as skiing, hunting, and hockey.
Sig skated on the hockey team at the Black Hills Hockey Rink in Tilford.
Sig enjoyed watching the local baseball team, the Sturgis Titans. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons participate in sports.
He moved to Sturgis in the fall of 2006, In September, 2010, Sig was moved to Sturgis Regional Senior Care where he lived until his death.
Sig, 92, Sturgis, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Sturgis Regional Senior Care.
Survivors include one son, Bernard "Bernie" (Dixie) Tveidt, Sturgis; one sister, Thelma Wiessner, Spearfish; two grandchildren,
Toby (Kasey) Tveidt and Sheldon Tveidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; his son, Roger; four brothers, Lars, Ole, Lewis, and Carl; and six sisters,
Josephine Helmer, Melina Tveidt, Theresa "Trix" Cobb, Hilda Wiessner, Ida Gillespie, and his twin sister, Clara Parsons.
A memorial has been established.
