Hi!

My great-great gran Eli Kristiansdatter married Brynt Anderson 11 Jul 1884 in Menekaune, Marinette, Wisconsin.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XRP9-H9V

Is it possible to find out if I have found the same Brynte/Brynt/Bryant here in the 1880 Census?

One impediment to these being the same person is the 1880 Brynte is married, so first wife must either resign or die in order for him to get married in 1884.

A puzzle! There isn't a female Anderson in the 1880 household. Gee, she could be one of the 64,000 Mrs. Anderson between the US and Sweden.

What happened to Elen Christiansdatter? Did she stay in US and get counted in the 1900 census? The 1880 Brynte was born in 1830 Sweden if Elen is found with her husband he might be able to be ruled out.

Looking again for other spellings of Brynte Anderson's name found these references, 1. Mentions a Brynte Andersen's departure from Liverpool on 3 Sept 1881 on the S.S. Wyoming with destination set for New York (but most on the published list are headed to Utah destinations 2. Death notice, funeral pending information on Bryante Andersen who came to Utah in 1881 and is survived by a daughter and 2 sons.

Thanks a lot!

I don't think, however that the Bryant dying in 1913 is the right one.

My great-great gran is here in 1900, widowed: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MS9D-4PF

"My" Bryant Anderson has most likely died in Wisconsin or Michigan between 1884 and 1900, as far as I can reckon...

Any clues?

Familysearch.org has two Wisconsin state head of household census' dated 1885 & 1895 which might help, if they didn't move away to Michigan or some other place.

Yes!

That's them! Then I think "B Anderson" died in Michigan 1894-1900!

And his age is a pretty close match to the 1880 Brynte--65 in 1894 vs 50 in 1880.

I have tried several ways to find Bryant Anderson's death in Menominee, Michigan 1894-1901 on FS, but no luck so far.

Any suggestions?

"Mellen Township" is probably their residence....
