I was reading about the RMS Aquitania on this website, and I found a small section about food provisions. I am a student, and have chosen this as the topic for my semester assignment, and I'm very interested in the source of this information. I am also very interested in any information about a tug boat called Mary C. in the Puget Sound, any information about the working cooks on this boat (only the Mary C.), food provisions, menu etc. under Captain Hugh P. Gilmore. I have chosen this topic because my great grandfather travelled with RMS Aquitania from Southampton to New York in 1923, and he worked as a cook on the Mary C. at some point later on. Can somebody please help me and point me in the right direction? Both ships/boats at the timeperiod early 1900s. I'll appreciate any help.

There is a good selection of Puget sound area newspapers at www.genealogybank.com. It is a for pay site but the snippet views are generous (select search newspaper button) and they do offer temporary subscriptions.

You could try public libraries websites for Pacific northwest, such as Tacoma or Seattle to see if they have pictures of the tug.

Good luck.
