Yes, I've often thought of that. I only recently was able to find a confirmation that they were indeed officially divorced, somewhere on a Portage County WI history page and link. At the very least, I might learn more about my grandmother. I didn't learn that my mom and grandma were taken in by grandma's oldest sister until after my mom died, and then only by chance. I have since confirmed that via the 1940 census.

My grandmother later remarried, but her husband did not adopt my mom. It's probably one of the next phone calls I'll make; I think of these things late at night, and then don't get back to it until well after business hours. Must write it down on my calendar!
