Hello all-
I know this is a Norwegian Heritage website, but if anyone is willing,
and "if" it is allowed in this miscellaneous forum, I need some help
trying to trace back my Great Grandparents in Denmark.
I believed that I had found the correct ancestors back to the late 1700's
I was wrong. The help that I received in the the Norwegian genealogy thread from jkmarker, and Einar and mostly Kåre was amazing!
With what I was able to learn about how information is collected,
I discovered my previous work was wrong in the Danish census
of 1880.
I did find the correct Allexander Victor Møller, age 16 of Aarhus, Hasle, Aarhus Købstad, Århus Købstad 3, , 174/fiskergade, 102, FT-1880
and the correct Ella Marie Olsen age 18 of Aarhus, Ning, Viby, Viby Sogn, , Marselisborg, 12, FT-1880
I tried creating a direct link to each person but was not successful-

Is the Danish language more similar to Norwegian than any other language?

One trick I did learn that you all may already know is that google translate sometimes works better set for Norwegian to English
Instead of Danish to English when I am trying to translate work
occupations or house position in the Danish archives!

This one and the emigration manifest were the only evidence I was able to find in any sources at all-
An interesting spelling of "Allexander" I wonder if it is a miss spelling
or the way it originally was spelled-
I searched both ways and came up empty-

Elle Marie Olesen was born May 22 1861 in Sjelle, Aarhus.
Her parents were carpenter Ole Jensen and Kirsten Laarsdatter, Sjellemark.

With the new info I was able to look in the database and find
Ella's grandparents on her mothers side 1750's era-

That was the bridge I was missing to find more
of the Danish side-
I am still trying to find info for Holsteen and Allexander Victor Moller
on his fathers side. I found some things in "familysearch.org including his parents marriage and his mothers christening

I am not a subscriber to the familysearch website but sometimes I can get info that leads to the census database.
