ship Mataura leaving norway 1877-78 for New Zealand
passengers were Johannes Johansen, wife Sedsel Olsd and son Mikkel.

would like to find a passenger list of info about this voyage

Johanne born april 10 1820 Funnes,Vang in Hedmark
Sedsel born Nov 19 1847 same place
Mikkel born Dec 16 1862 same place.
farm =Ovre Gaalaas
they are in the 1865 census

Can't guarantee you'll find a passenger list here but there are pictures of at least 2 vessels named Mataura:

Passenger list, MATAURA.
The MATAURA departed London on 12 August, 1877 and arrived in Napier on 9 November, 1877, with Captain Alex Brown in command.

Sisil 53 A female
Michael 14 A male Norway
Martin 10 C male
Ludwig 7 C male

Martha and Sina left 3 yrs before their family. would there be a record in the norwegian archives for them and or their family..

I would like to know just why these tw gilrs, being so young traveled to NZ

Emigration from Oslo on April 23rd, 1874:
Edvard Nilsen, male, married, Missionary, 31 y.o., residence S. Odalen, destination New Zealand
Oline Nilsen, female, married, wife, 22 y.o.
Paulus J. S. Nilsen, male, son, 1 1/4 yrs (15 months old)
Sina Johannesen, female, foster daughter, 9 y.o.
Anne Torp, female, foster daughter, 11 1/2 y.o.

I didn't have those pages. that will be of great help.
I had this page before and Sina was Johannes daughter born 1864.
but now I see in the info you sent she is a foster daughter.

I had Johannes and his family leaving 1877 and now I see Sina left with another family in 1874. . wonder why she is a foster dau.

there is something wrong with this person Sina, date ob birth is 1864 but yet she is married with 3 children in 1874 .

It says Sina married Walter Marian Marmaduke PARSONS in 1884 in New Zealand.

Thus; born 1864, emigration 1874, marriage 1884.
